Camping at the lake

We went camping this weekend with our favourite camping families at one of our favourite camping sites, Pilot Knoll Park.  We really liked our campsite this year, sites 41 & 42.  They were close to the park and close to the bathrooms :)  Kids played at the park and down by the lake, we told ghost stories around the fire and made s'mores.  The weather was perfect and the company was great!

Halloween 2011

This year Halloween was a bit crazy.  With my schedule being so full we didn't get a chance to get the kids Halloween costumes until the day before Halloween!
Bean decided that she wanted to be a witch with an awesome hat and broom this year and Bug picked out a Transformers costume that had a cool mask.
As luck would have it, we bought them on Sunday (at a "No Returns Accepted" store) and Bug came down with strep throat Sunday night :)  Bean and Ryan went trick or treating and to our church Home Group bouncy house party while Bug and I sat at home and watched movies.

Bean's 8th Birthday Party

Bean's 8th Birthday Party

We had Bean's 8th birthday party today and it was so much fun!  We had planned on not having a party this year and just getting together for a family celebration but at the last minute Bean decided that she really wanted a party.  So the weekend before her birthday we found a woman who makes bottle cap necklaces.  She came over and made 2 bottle caps with each child.  The girls had a great time!  Then we had cake and opened presents.  Short and sweet and so much fun!

Bug's First Field Trip

Bug had his first field trip today. His kindergarten class went to the Henrietta Apple Orchard.

I couldn't go because of school but my mom (who is awesome and cancelled a golf game for me) was able to go with him.  They both had a very active and great time :)

Brownies

We are back in the swing with our girl scout meetings this year. Bean is now a Brownie and we are doing super fun projects and activities in our community.
Tonight at our meeting I was the parent helper and so glad that I got to observe and help out.
We finished making our Girl Scout pinwheels and then the girls got to decorate a quilt for the organization Soaring Words which is an organization that encourages children suffering from chronic and serious illnesses. The girls got to decorate one of the quilts that will be given to a seriously ill child with words of encouragement. They did a great job and had so much fun designing their squares!

Bug's Very First Soccer Game

Yay! First soccer game of the season and we won 11-7 (not that we're allowed to keep score!)! Bug scored two goals! He did so GREAT and had a ball. So happy that we have a fabulous team and coach.
